We woke up early, ate breakfast, and packed our bags for
Seattle today. I was incredibly excited because we were taking the train!
Nothing new happened for food; just snacks on the way.
Our train ride went
very well, we saw some new scenery, enjoyed playing cards, and even
though two young toddlers sat next to us we were able to nap for a little while
as well.
We trekked our way through Seattle, which was much more
big-city-like than our beloved Portland, to our unique hotel: The Maxwell. All
of us were very impressed with its niceness.
They served some of the most wonderful
little pineapple cupcakes at the guest check-in area. I may have eaten more
than one.
Our dinner at Peso’s was…incredible. From the artistic and
culturally distinct decorations to the drinks and the food we were more than
pleased. We started with queso, guacamole, and salsa (yes we ate too much
again!). I had portabella mushroom and poblano pepper enchiladas, Brad also had
enchiladas and my brother and his girlfriend had fish tacos. The chefs at this restaurant took these
simple meals and elevated them to something very special.
Seattle has not failed to impress us so far and we have big
plans for tomorrow: The Space Needle and Pike’s Place Market.
